Kerala SSLC result 2015: Check the result of Kerala SSLC exam

Kerala Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) results 2015 were declared today (April 20) at 4 pm by Kerala Education Minister PK Abdu Rabb. The Kerala Board announced the Class 10 exam results. The candidates who appeared for the SSLC exam can check their results on the website. The results can be accessed on the following websites: www.results.itschool.gov.in and www.keralaresults.nic.in.

Interested candidates need to fill in the required information on these websites, such as registration number, roll number, date of birth and school code to view their SSLC results. Those who don’t have access to these website may also çheck their results on Citizens’ Call Centre 155300 (from BSNL landline) and 0471-155300, 0471-2335523, 0471-2115054 and 0471-2115098 (from mobile and other phone services).

A total of 4,68,495 students appeared for the Kerala Board SSLC examination. The Kerala Pareeksha Bhawan conducts the Kerala SSLC Exam twice a year. The first exam is held in the month of March and later in May/June for candidates who could not clear it in the first attempt. Sania Mirza tweets 'on top of the world' after she is officially crowned world no. 1

NEW DELHI: Sania Mirza on Monday tweeted she was 'on top of the world' after she was officially crowned world no. 1 in the WTA ranking for women's doubles that was released on Monday.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led an outpouring of praise for Sania Mirza after she became the country's first tennis player to be ranked No. 1 in women's doubles.

"An excellent accomplishment (at)MirzaSania! Congrats on being World Number 1 in doubles," Modi wrote on Twitter page after Mirza won the Family Circle doubles title in Charleston on Sunday partnering Swiss great Martina Hingis.

The 28-year-old Mirza, who decided to focus on doubles in 2012 after a recurring wrist injury, won a third consecutive doubles title partnering Hingis and her 25th overall on the WTA Tour.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi also congratulated Sania and applauded her commitment and determination. In her message, Gandhi said Mirza has made the entire nation proud.

Cricket great Sachin Tendulkar said Mirza was an inspiration for upcoming tennis players. "Congratulations to @MirzaSania on being crowned World No. 1 in Doubles. Terrific achievement and will inspire more to pursue the sport," Tendulkar tweeted.

Women's badminton player Saina Nehwal, who hails from Hyderabad and was briefly ranked No. 1 in singles earlier this month, also congratulated Mirza.

"MirzaSania World number 1 in doubles congratulations huge achievement. All the very best for future,'' Nehwal tweeted.

India's test cricket captain Virat Kohli said both Nehwal and Mirza had made the country proud.

Blood Moon 2015: Superstitions around Total Lunar Eclipse and Live Streaming Information

Before the Easter Sunday, as the Passover draws to a close on the evening of Saturday, 4 April, a rare and short total lunar eclipse will turn the moon blood red. This rare phenomena has triggered a series of apocalyptic rumours.

It is the third of the four successive total "blood red" lunar eclipses, which will be visible across North America, Asia and Australia.

According to NASA, the celestial phenomena is so rare that in the last 2000 years it has happened only a handful of times.

The total lunar eclipse will begin at 3:16 am PDT, on the morning of 4 April, when the edge of the moon passes through the amber core of Earth's shadow. The blood moon will last for less than five minutes, just before the end of the phenomena. The lunar eclipse will, however, take place in a course of one hour and forty five minutes.

The entire moon will be covered by the Earth's shadow at 4:58 am PDT.

Why is Blood Moon Red?

The moon's redness is caused by the Earth covering the sun. This red light from the rim of the Earth falls on the moon to make it look like a giant red orb.

Is it a Supernatural Phenomena?

The rare celestial occurrence has triggered various reactions, many quoting from the book of Joel in the bible say that blood red moon predicts the end of the world. In Bible, the book of Joel Chapter 2, Verse 31 says: "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD comes," [NKJV].

John Hagee, an American pastor, told Express that "the end of this age is coming" as there is a sequence of prophetic events that the Bible says will happen.

Unlike solar eclipse, the Lunar eclipse is safe to watch with naked eyes. On the Easter weekend, the total lunar eclipse will be visible from most of North America and around the Pacific Rim region.

Sky gazers in Australia and the Asian Far East will see the eclipse at sunset, the lucky one in western North America will enjoy the best view during sunrise on 4 April.

Hawaii and the central Pacific islands will catch the eclipse high in the sky near the zenith, around local midnight. It will not be visible from Africa or Europe.

Expect Monday Weakness after Good Friday jobs

U.S. stocks could continue their overall decline on Monday, no matter how good the March job report is. 

Markets are closed on Good Friday, and the Monday afterwards is historically the S&P 500's worst post-holiday trading session. When the key monthly jobs report comes out on that Friday, stocks perform even more poorly. 

Analysis using the quantitative tool Kensho showed the three major indices declined much more on Mondays following the release of jobs numbers on a Good Friday. 

The two events coincided ten times since 1980, with the last occurrence in 2012.
For the Mondays after a jobs Friday and Easter Sunday, the S&P 500 had negative returns 60 percent of the time, with a median percent return of negative 0.82 percent. The Nasdaq 100 had negative returns 78 percent of the time, with an average return of negative 0.82 percent. The Dow Jones industrial average traded negative 67 percent of the time, with a median return of negative 0.38 percent. 

Investors increasingly focus on the monthly jobs report as a key indicator for the timing of a Federal Reserve interest rate hike. 

Stocks struggled for consensus in the days ahead of the release of the March jobs report on Good Friday, when stock markets are closed. Only the futures market will be open on Friday after the economic report comes out at 8:30 a.m. 

That leaves an entire day before investors can take action on the jobs report on Monday. Since European markets and most Asian exchanges are closed on Monday, U.S. markets will have little overseas movement to trade off.

"Basically any number lower than anticipated will probably be welcomed that doesn't raise Fed fears. On the other hand, a number higher (than anticipated) could induce Fed fears," said Peter Cardillo, chief market economist at Rockwell Global Capital. 

Analysts expect an increase of 245,000 in nonfarm payrolls in March, with the unemployment rate unchanged at 5.5 percent. Average hourly wages are expected to increase 0.2 percent.

A rough Monday doesn't spell doom for the entire week, however. 

Stocks actually traded positive 70 percent of the time with a median gain of more than 0.70 percent, Kensho analysis showed.
